Antidote Health Clinic Privacy Policy
Antidote Health Clinic is committed to safeguarding the privacy and confidentiality of our patients’ personal information.
This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information in compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Collection of Personal Information
We collect personal information necessary to provide quality healthcare services, including:
- Personal Details: Name, date of birth, contact information, and demographic data.
- Health Information: Medical history, treatment records, medications, and other health-related details.
- Financial Information: Billing details, Medicare and private health insurance information.
We collect this information directly from you through consultations, online Consultation bookings, and communications. In some cases, we may obtain information from other healthcare providers or diagnostic facilities with your consent or as permitted by law.
2. Use of Personal Information
Your personal information is used to:
- Provide, manage, and coordinate your healthcare.
- Communicate with you regarding Consultations, treatments, and follow-ups.
- Process billing and insurance claims.
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Disclosure of Personal Information
We may disclose your personal information to:
- Other healthcare providers involved in your care.
- Medicare, private health insurers, and billing agencies.
- Legal or regulatory bodies as required by law.
We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.
4. Data Security
We implement robust security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. These measures include secure electronic systems, restricted access to physical records, and staff training on privacy protocols.
5. Access and Correction
You have the right to access and correct your personal information. To request access or make corrections, please contact us using the details provided below. We will respond to your request promptly and in accordance with the Privacy Act.
6. Online Bookings and Digital Communications
When you book Consultations online or communicate with us electronically, we collect the information you provide to facilitate your care. We use secure systems to protect this information and comply with all relevant privacy laws.
We will also use your email address for routine communications, such as appointment confirmations and reminders. To use our service, you agree that you have sole use of the email address you provide and agree to receive email communications from Antidote Health.
Our appointment confirmation emails include "Add to Calendar" buttons. Clicking one sends your appointment date, time, duration, and the name of your practitioner to your calendar service so the event can be added to your calendar. We do not send your name, contact details, Medicare number, date of birth, or any health information.
The buttons we provide work with major calendar services such as Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, and Outlook. These services are typically operated by companies based overseas (most commonly in the United States), and we cannot control which calendar service you use or how that service handles your information once it has been sent. As a result, we cannot ensure your information is handled in a way that complies with the Australian Privacy Principles once it leaves us. By clicking an "Add to Calendar" button, you consent to this overseas disclosure. If you'd rather not, don't click these buttons — your confirmation email contains all the appointment details so you can add the appointment to any calendar manually, or not at all. Each calendar service publishes its own privacy policy describing how it handles your information; for example, see Google's policy, Apple's policy, or Microsoft's policy.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The latest version will always be available on our website.
